Bijoya Dosommi cards

The final day of the Durga Festival and our hearts are a bit heavy. But if you truly understood Maa Durga, then you know that she lives all through the year and lives, here in us. She appeared as the combined energy of the gods and she still comes when we all wish for her. Arising from our energies, she shows herself in clay idols. She stays for four days and kills all the demons that lie within us. So that we can be pure and abundant, again.

Bijaya Dosomi

The Durga Puja is ending and with a heavy heart all bid her goodbye. We all start wishing for the next Puja even before it ends. The pandals get ready for the procession for taking Maa Durga for Bhashan or the immersion. Amidst Sindur Khela and holy incantations, the idols of Maa Durga with Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kartik and Ganesh are immersed into the water. For Bengalis, it’s also time for socialization and be their gourmet best.

Shubho Bijaya

It is the last day of the Durga Puja. Also known as Dussehra, it celebrates Ram’s victory over Ravan. Ram had invoked Durga’s blessings to defeat him in battle. Effigies of Ravan, Kumbhakaran and Indrajit are burned in many places. This is a time of joy and celebration all over India.
